Advice for a good management of maps

Everything takes place on the maps pages. The registration is the only thing happening behind the scenes of the website: only go there to change your email address or password.

Before you begin, please watch the video.

3 clicks to access the marker window :

– Click on Teacher Login to put in tour password, then click « connect ». If Map List and Map 1, 2, or 3 appear instead of Teacher login, it means you are already logged in.

Then:

– Click on map 1, 2 or 3

– Click on Add New Marker (or Edit, or Delete)

CAUTION: MAPS AND TRAINING SESSIONS DISCOVERIES :

NO DATE = NO MARKER

( click on the box below ‘ to date ‘ and you’ll see a show schedule. (Do not forget to put in the text as part of the visitor )

To input information:

If you are not sure about the address, check first on https://www.google.co.uk/maps

Fill the address .

Be careful: if your marker is not in a good position, it means that the address is not complete: modify it, add the postal code (several village might have the same name)

Picture: please upload a small file (100Ko is enough). ThumbsUp (mac) et Easy Thumbnails (windows)   4 mo –> 30 ko !! If you see the image unrolling when you click on the marker, it means it is too big and needs time to upload. It could make people with a slow connection reluctant to go further, especially on smartphones and tablets. All picture softwares (like picasa for instance) allow you to modify easily the weight of your picture. Here is a free website that allows you to create a thumbnail form a picture (mind you: the original picture needs to be lighter than 1 Mo) http://www.makeathumbnail.com

Validate at the bottom of the page (Add New Marker or Edit Marker)

Check on the map, test the links

WATCH OUT:

There can sometimes be problems to verify your changes as they do not appear immediately. That does not mean that they have not been taken in, they have. There is no need to change again. Keep cool ! 🙂

If you have other questions, ask for help first from a friend who is already on the map.
Thanks for your collaboration.
